Village of Milan Sewer Collection System Improvements
SCOPE 1-Sewer Collection System Improvements: The project includes the replacement of approximately 4,789 linear feet of existing sewer using pipe bursting methods, 780 linear feet of sewer replacement using open trench methods, and approximately 5,878linear feet of sewer replacement using Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) lining which is cured with Ultraviolet (UV) light, as indicated in the plan set Furthermore, the project entails the rehabilitation of four existing manholes through minor repairs, such as regrouting. 19 Manholes will be rehabilitated with constructed solutions including work such as replacement existing manhole frame and cover assemblies, and/or placement of new concrete collars around manhole lids after being brought to existing grade. The project also involves the complete removal and replacement of 89 manholes through new installation. In addition, the project includes the installation of a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to monitor the sewer collection system for four lift stations Golf Course, Cactus, Berry Hills, and Stanley, as well as for the Public Works office. SCOPE 2-Golf Course Lift Station: Installation of new sewage lift station wet well with an appurtenant valve vault, approximately 300 linear feet of new 4-inch sewer force main, and approximately 60 linear feet of 8-inch gravity sewer main. The existing 4” sanitary sewer line and 4” sewer force main are to be cut and capped once flow is conveyed through the new facilities. The constructed lift station shall be equipped with new dual submersible pumps with new controls, piping, check valves, and level controls. SCOPE 3- Cactus Lift Station Rehabilitation: The project work includes the rehabilitation of the Cactus lift station. Rehabilitation will include the replacement of the two existing Submersible pumps with new submersible pumps and new controls, new guide rails will be installed inside the wet well including associated cabling and level controls. The project also includes electrical components, such as installing new controls and extending 3-phase power to the lift station site. SCOPE 4-Berryhill Lift Station and Sewer System Installation: The project includes the construction of a new sewer collection system for the Berryhill area, involving the installation of approximately 3,027 linear feet of 8-inch gravity sewer main through open trenching as indicated in the plan set. The work also includes installing sewer service connections to the new sewer main for about 37 sewer service line stub-outs, located within the village’s right of way. Work throughout the project site will require the removal and replacement of 2,611 linear feet of 3-inch asphalt pavement. The project also includes the installation of 19 new manholes. The new sewer collection system will be tie-in to the new sewage lift station facility. The project also includes electrical components, such as installing new controls and extending 3-phase power to the new lift station site. The lift station includes two submersible pumps installed in the wet well with guide rails and level controls. Additional scope as outlined in the Contract Documents and Specifications.
